Ingredient | Gingelly |
Sesame oil, also known as gingelly or til oil, is obtained from sesame seeds. It plays a prominent role in Asian cuisine and also alternative medicine. Oil is expressed from sesame seeds either by simply crushing or toasting over heat. The first method provides cold-pressed sesame oil. While cold-pressed sesame oil is pale yellow, hot-processed sesame oils have darker shades and markedly different flavor. Apart from the mild, nutty flavor of cold-pressed sesame oil, it contains a higher proportion of fatty acids than sesame oil obtained from heated seeds. In addition, the sesamolin content of cold-pressed sesame oil protects it from oxidation and, therefore, increases its shelf-life.
Nutrients:
Cold-pressed sesame oil is a good source of vitamin E, containing 11.8 mg of the vitamin for every 100 g of the oil. Vitamin E gives sesame oil its antioxidant property. It also has a high concentration of fatty acids, including polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acids and monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acids. Other constituents of cold-pressed sesame oil include zinc, copper, magnesium, calcium and iron as well as vitamin B-6. Zinc contributes to healthy bones; copper is good for the management of rheumatoid arthritis; calcium is essential for the prevention of osteoporosis, migraine and colon cancer; and magnesium contributes to respiratory health.
Cardiovascular Benefits:
The high concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids in cold-pressed sesame oil makes it useful in the control of hypertension. These fatty acids are not the only constituents of the oil helpful in reducing blood pressure. One of the natural preservatives present in the cold-pressed sesame oil, sesamin, is a lignan shown to lower blood pressure. Furthermore, sesamin inhibits the production and absorption of cholesterol and, therefore, contributes to overall cardiac health.
Cosmetic Benefits :
Cold-pressed sesame oil is known in Ayurvedic practice as the healing oil. When applied topically to the skin or hair, its antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties provide protective, nourishing and detoxifying effects on stressed and damaged skin. The high concentration of omega-6 fatty acids in cold-pressed sesame oil makes it a moisturizing and an ideal massage oil. Sesame oil also rejuvenates the skin and prevents premature aging. It is especially useful for dry and damaged skins as well as in the treatment of sunburn, skin allergies, chemical burns, eczema, rosacea, dry hair and dandruff. It also provides a benefit for patients undergoing chemotherapy and those sensitive to swimming pool chlorine.
Culinary Benefits :
Cold-pressed sesame oil keeps the longest among cooking oils with high smoke points. This is due to preservative actions of sesamin and sesamol naturally present in it. These preservatives make it possible to keep sesame oil from going rancid even while it is stored in the open. Unlike the darker sesame oil obtained from roasted sesame seeds, cold-pressed sesame oil has a higher smoke point and can be used for deep-frying. Even then it should be heated carefully to preserves its mild, nutty flavor and maintain its concentration of vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids.

Cold Press Groundnut oil Benifits :
The health benefits of peanut oil include skin care, lower cholesterol levels, improved heart health and nervous system. It also prevents cancer, boosts cognitive function, strengthens the immune system, and lowers blood pressure.
What is Peanut Oil?
Cold Press Ground Nut oil is most commonly used in Asian cultures, including that of China and Southeast Asian nations like Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
Most of the health benefits of peanut oil come from its diverse types of fatty acids, such as oleic acid, stearic acid, palmitic acid, and linoleic acid, among others. [2] While unbalanced levels of fatty acids can be dangerous for your health, peanut oil has a very safe balance that can boost your health in a variety of ways, in addition to the health benefits from the other vitamins, minerals, and organic compounds found in peanuts. [3]
Controls Cholesterol Levels
Peanut oil is cholesterol free, which is one of the major factors contributing to complicated heart conditions such as atherosclerosis. Since cooking oil is used in many different ways, eliminating this dangerous cholesterol from your body can help prevent a variety of health complications. Furthermore, not only does peanut oil lack cholesterol, it can reduce your current levels of cholesterol due to the presence of plant sterols. [4] These phytosterols actually compete for cholesterol absorption in the stomach and gut, which can lower your cholesterol levels by 10-15%!
Boosts Heart Health
Peanut oil also contains monounsaturated fatty acids, like oleic acid, which increase the levels of “good cholesterol”, called HDL, in the blood. [5] This beneficial cholesterol actually helps to scrape off and reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) and lower your risk of developing coronary heart diseases and strokes.
Prevents Cancer
Peanut oil has high levels of polyphenol antioxidants, including resveratrol. [6] This compound works to eliminate free radicals, which are the dangerous by-products of cellular metabolism that cause a huge range of diseases like cancer. Studies have shown that switching to a vegetable oil high in resveratrol, like peanut oil, can decrease your chances of developing cancer, thanks to its antioxidant properties.
Lowers Blood Pressure
Resveratrol has another important function in the body. It interacts with various hormones that affect blood vessels, like angiotensin, which constricts vessels and arteries. By neutralizing the effects of that hormone, resveratrol helps decrease blood pressure, which reduces stress on the cardiovascular system. [7]
Prevents Cognitive Disorders
Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most widespread and tragic conditions that affect people as they get older, but resveratrol, a multi-functional antioxidant, has also been shown to eliminate or slow the onset of cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. [8] Free radicals are responsible for the breakdown of neural pathways in the brain, so antioxidants like resveratrol can slow or stop that process very effectively.
Skin Care
Peanut oil, like many vegetable oils, is quite rich in vitamin E, which is an essential vitamin for human beings. [9] It is particularly important for the maintenance and health of the skin, protecting it from the effects of free radicals that cause wrinkles, blemishes, and other signs of premature aging. The vitamin E in peanut oil keeps your skin looking young and healthy as you get older.
